Good morning, What are people's thoughts on the date of these Tea Tongs, the mark shown and where they might be made? (c.1760, London, Colonial or Provincial?) I was attracted to them because of the unusual shape of the finger rings. There is a contemporary family initial engraving of "D" ...
Hi all, I can see a 12 Loth mark, so I know its likely German or European at least, any ideas on date and accurate location? Only marks are "12" and "M" on the reverse Many thanks, Simon https://i.postimg.cc/Y03NCSkK/german-spoon.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/CdrQd7Yg/german-spoon-mar...
Hi all, Knowing these are likely to be Scottish, who would be the maker and approximate age? The are have one mark only on the inside of one of the arms. many thanks Simon
I hate to ignore marks, but I would ask you this...does the Stag Head emblem appear to be stamped? To me, it does not match the primary design elements and seems to be applied offset on what may have been a blank reserve...therefore personalization or customized for a particular buyer? And if it is...
Good morning I have a pair of cast gilt figural spoons,I believe the style is Dutch but I'm not sure if they are of they are of the 18th Century period or a late 19th Century remake. Please could anyone assist to identify the maker? Both spoons have the same marks. https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg...
Hi all, I have put this in the English (London) silver section, as that what I think it purports to be. However as you will see I have a few questions as to its age and origination. (Please move to a different section if appropriate) https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg https://www.925-1000.com/pi...
An English viscount's coronet would normally show eight or nine "pearls" along the upper edge, but though it only shows seven pearls, the coronet shown here is within the bounds of identifiability as an English viscount's coronet. Just my two pence worth. David Many thanks for your advice...
Hello, Please could someone ID the type of coronet that is engraved on the Lid of an early 20th century Walker and Hall dish. The circlet has 7 pearls which makes me wonder if it is in fact a continental coronet? (The monogram appears to be two 'M's intertwined) Kind regards, Simon https://www.925-1...
Thanks Trev, I did wonder looking at the dates if the maker was too early for the style, and knowing the plethora of undocumented makers that are out there - I'm sure there are a fair few others over the 19th/20th centuries with the initials 'R&S'. Best, Simon
Hello, Please could anyone identify the maker of this silver plated bread serving fork? https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg I'm sure this is also a known pattern, but I will post in the correct section after the maker has been identified: "Flatware Patt...
Good evening, Please could someone check their reference books to see who the maker of these small tongs might be? (Apologies for the poor quality photos, I hope they show the marks reasonably) https://s13.postimg.org/rlwgj1urr/P1070880.jpg https://s13.postimg.org/6qa681bhz/P1070895.jpg https://s13....
