Hi folks, Can anyone decipher the marks on this .925 silver handled magnifying glass? The antique dealer who sold me this two montsh ago said it might be italian silver. However, from the marks shown on the site, I think it could be Swiss. Is the third hallmark a duck? Any help would be appreciated....

Hi Folks,

Having some Sumner's silver I can concur with Trev's view - the first sharp pointed upward stroke of the W follows Sumners mark rather than shallower one favoured by Smith.

Hi Trev and Buckler, Thanks for your assistance. I have tried to take a clearer image (attached) to pick out the makers mark and the "leopards head" - If its not a leopards head the only other thing that it resembles is the Irish harp. Could be irish crystal I guess... Thanks for your help...

Thanks for reply. I assumed that silver plate required hallmarks as well.
