Thank you for your help, Peter!
Glad to know that I was at least able to spot the similarity between the Begeer mark used between 1904/1951 and the one found on my sewing awl.
Regards,
Natascha

Silver sewing awl
Hi everyone,
I picked up this silver sewing awl today (or at least that's what I think it is). It's marked with the sword for Dutch silver, it looks like the 1906-1953 sword to me. The maker's mark is *B* (3rd photo). I looked in various online databases but I did not find a match (closest thing ...

Re: Dutch silver pendant and necklace
Oh dear, forgot all about the sword. The sword indicates it's from 1906-1953. So apparantly lower numbers in a pointed frame-shape were also printed vertically between 1906 and 1953.

Re: Dutch silver pendant and necklace
Thank you so much, Amena!
I got the info about the 'keyhole' from another website, but I guess I interpreted that incorrectly.
The mark on the necklace is a lower number (2 would be 2 x 5 = 10 grams) printed vertically in a pointed frame-shape, so it's from after 1953, if I understand correctly ...

Dutch silver pendant and necklace
Hi everyone,
A while back I purchased a Dutch silver necklace and pendant. I've been to identify the hallmarks and I could use some help.
The necklace only has a makers mark: AH3 for J.A. Hooykaas (1917-1957). Can anyone date the style? I've seen plenty of similar looking pieces, but I'm not sure ...

Re: Unknown hallmarks on Dutch silver watch seal fobs
Thank you so much for the detailed formation!
So if I understand correctly this piece is from 1812 - 1833, and possibly made by father (ring) and son (fobs)?
I'm surprised by its age, did not expect that. It's in great condition (needs some cleaning though, lots of grime has on the inside of the ...

Unknown hallmarks on Dutch silver watch seal fobs
I recently bought a set of two silver seal fobs on a split ring (on a rolo chain) at an online auction. I was hoping for an antique one
but my expections were that it was a vintage revival piece (perhaps from Niekerk in Schoonhoven).
After it arrived I took a closer look at the hallmarks, and the ...

Thanks!
I have been checking out eBay for some time now since I wanted a nice sterling or solid gold fob, and I've indeed seen hundreds with carnelian and bloodstone, but rarely in such good condition, so that's why I was wondering whether or not they were replacements. It's really a beautiful piece.

Help on English sterling watch fob
Hey everybody,
I got this silver watch fob on eBay. I'm a confused concerning the hallmarks though. It's an English sterling piece, the makers mark is G.E.W., which probably stands for George Edwin Walton, active during the early 20th century. However, looking at the date letter 'o' and the shape ...

Portuguese pillbox
Who can help me in finding out more about this pillbox?
What I previously thought to be hallmarks, turned out to say 'Portugal'. The item is silver plated (tested for .800 to .835 according to the seller), and the crown on the lid is thought to belong to the Portuguese royal house of Braganza. I ...

Unidentified mark on silver needle case.
Hello,
Who can help me with this mark on my newly bought silver needle case?
I don't know anything about the age or origin of the needle case, I only now it's silver.
The mark shown in the picture is the only mark on the item. One of the letters appears to be a Z. The other letter looks like an I ...
