From the founding of its silver department c.1845 until 1868, Tiffany & Co. retailed the production of other silversmiths such as; John Polhamus, Henry Hebbard, William Gale & Gorham. In 1869, after the acquisition of the John C. Moore firm, Tiffany began the production of its own flatware patterns.
