Gorham tea strainer????

Post by polo_fer_lauren »

Hello everyone!!!

Well........I hope you can help me. I'm a complete ignorant about American silver, so I need your opinion. I think, this tea strainer, is Gorham made in 1907 (scissors date mark?). Whant do you think? The marks are lightly wear but I can see a lion and may be an anchor. Don't you?.

Thank you in advance. I'm waiting for your reply.

Hello. Those look like Gorham marks to me also.

Not sure about the date mark. Here's a picture of Gorham's scissors mark:

In 1898 Gorham began adding letter prefixes to the number production codes (B3184 on your piece).
Sometime between 1930 and 1932 they stopped adding these prefix letters.
