This is a silver plated piece by Thomas Turner & Co, Sheffield. It is 5" long with straining holes to the rear of the bowl and a pouring lip to the front. Any ideas?

This versatile utensil combines the functionality of a soup ladle and a strainer. Not just a soup ladle, this utensil can also be used as a strainer for hot pot, stew, fried foods, chicken, and more. Its pointed spout enables precise soup pouring, giving you better control over the liquid portion.

At 5" long it would serve a rather small portion of soup.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: I am having trouble understanding this as a utensil for soup or food serving. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
::::::::: I just can't see this helping serve food, I am trying to envision it as a food serving implement, but I just can't do it. :::::::::::::::::
