Silver Ear-iron
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oorijzer
The Groningen ear-iron is difficult to distinguish from the Frisian. The Groninger is a bit narrower, and it leaves the top of the head uncovered.
The helmet-shaped ear-iron, made of thin silver, consists of two contiguous halves that can be attached to each other on top with a (often disappeared) chain. The accompanying gold or silver gilded pins/corner pieces on either side consist of dense filigree work with small plates in various shapes. Often the owners initials were punched in. A transparent bonnet was worn over the ear-iron, part of the typical regional Groningen dress.

Makers mark D2 under a crown for Imen Harms Deelman or Fa. (Firm) Brothers Deelman, registered in Groningen, this particular used 1878-1886. Until 1863 or 1868 in collaboration with G.J. Deelman. Started around 1851. The three Deelman brothers: Ime Harm Deelman (1820-1899), Wessel Hinderikus Deelman (1817-1903) and Geert Jaxon Deelman (1822-1899).

Are there no hallmarks also check the pins/corner pieces for a hallmark.
