Hello,

Can anyone help identify the markings on this silver plate tea strainer? The pictures are not great but I hope they can help. Here are the link. Many thanks,
Greg.

Hi Greg,

No, it is silver. Geneva, 19th century, 800/1000 standard.

Hi Greg

Made by Isaac Amaron, 1780-1850.
You can date it between 1830 and 1840.

I think there was some lengthy discussion in the Scandinavian forum, a few years back, about whether such an item was a strawberry server or a sugar sifter. It is hard to tell the scale from the photo, but it would seem to be such an item rather than a tea strainer.

Not my area, so will leave it to the OP et al to make some final determination.
