ROWE, Thomas (Grimwade p.647)
3 June 1747 Thomas son of William Rowe late of Walthamstow in the County of Essex Gentleman deceased apprenticed to James Slater London Merchant Taylor (a Goldsmith by trade) and duly served him until his death, and afterwards served his widow till 3 May 1750 when he was turned over to Richard Gurney (Grimwade p.530) London Goldsmith of the same trade whom he served till 6 February 1752, and then was turned over to James Dennis London Gold and Silver Wyre Drawer (a Goldsmith also by trade) whom he served ever since that an opportunity offering to his advantage his said master is willing to remit him the remainder of his time, but wanting about six months to compleat he cannot obtain his freedom of this City by virtue of his said service. He therefore prayed being a Goldsmith by trade to be admitted by redemption in to the Company of Goldsmiths. The preceeding all from Thomas Rowe's freedom by redemption paper.
