Your photo is a bit blurry, but it seems to me that the marks on your jug are like these below.

These are trademarks of silverplate of a company that I do not know, but I suppose that is from Bologna (Italy), although I'm not sure.
My assumption comes from the fact that the first brand seems to represent the two towers, symbol of Bologna, and also by the fact that, living in Bologna, I found a really great amount of pieces with these marks.
There are several variations of size, and, of course, in the letter contained in the shield.

Hi Millar,
hi Amenda,
Yesterday the page admin gave me the hint that you two have had a while ago a conversation about the silver-plate marks I am looking now as well for any information.
You may find my post on this board at
http://www.925-1000.com/forum/viewtopic ... 18&t=44910
Has someone of you meanwhile found some more information about this mark?
Just a side note: I have the same kind of a cocktail set (pitcher and spoon) listed in another post at
http://www.925-1000.com/forum/viewtopic ... 14#p130297
Surprisingly, the marker's mark is quite different.
Thanks,
Michelle

Hello Michelle
I have good reasons to believe that these marks belonged , in the 70s, to the factory "Silver" in Bologna, but I have no evidence.
Today I wrote to a store that should have more reliable information. If they answer me I'll let you know

Amena

Hi Michelle
I've got an answer from the person who took over the shop that belonged to the owner of the "Silver" company.
He confirmed that the set of marks with the capital "S" is certainly a trademark of the company "Silver",
He is unable to say anything about the other set, the one with the two towers.
If I find more information I'll let you know
Regards
Amena

Hello Amena,
Thank you so much for your fast reply.
Do you know by chance as well what the meaning of the two ohter marks (Glass respectively Hand) are? Is one of those a date mark?
Would you like to share with the board also the name of the company in Bologna which stands behind the 'S'? You know, on this board Tom has a topic open about unknown silver-plater marks.
Best regards,
Michelle Marie

Hello
I am always amazed at how difficult it is to find reliable information on a relatively recent past.
As I said the firm that has the trademark of the three marks with the capital "S" is the company "Silver" founded in Bologna, in Via Larga, by Vittorio Zucchelli.
The other two marks, for all I know, are fantasy marks.
I do not think any of them is a date mark as I have seen dozens and they are always the same.
I think that the chalice was chosen because in the 17th century one of the hallmark of the silver of Bologna was the chalice.

I do not know why they choose the hand

Hi Amena,
Indeed, I was as well surprised how difficult it is to find out any information about those marks. Hence thank you very much that you checked locally your sources and shared the outcome with us.
Also interesting is that the two cocktail sets are not so old as you said you think the markings going back to somewhere in the 70'. The two crystal pitchers are very nice made, hence another reason why it's amazing that no information about is around.
Kind regards,
Michelle Marie

Looking to the grounding of the cut glass I belived it's most likely that the pitchers are from the early 20th century, maybe late 19th.
Thank you,
Michelle Marie

Usually it is not ground crystal, but molded glass.
