Cigarette Case - Information Sought

Post by dognose »

Hi,

I'm researching this cigarette case for a friend:

The meaning of the applied gold word would be very helpful:

The marks have proved very difficult to capture, I hope that they may be just clear enough to an experienced eye for an ID:

All thoughts appreciated.

Hi Trev -

the inscription in gold is probably a pet name for a girl: NOPOTSCHKA
The maker is too unclear - better photos give better answers ...

Hi —
Believe the correct transliteration of the Russian is Norochka, a nickname for Nora.

Hi Both,

Indeed the images are none too clear, apparently the marks are tiny and have proved difficult to capture.

Many thanks to both of you for your thoughts on the name.

Hi -
JayT is right!
Switching from Latin to Kyrillic and vice versa always create typos....
