Modernist Sterling & Quartz Necklace Help ID Maker

Hello all. I came across this modernist necklace the other day and have been trying to research the maker. I haven't had any luck in my online or print sources. Does anyone recognize it? The piece is of top quality craftsmanship and I think it is beautiful. Anyway, any help will be appreciated.

I failed to mention and to get a photo of the "925" mark, but it is present.

It looks like a piece of beginning student work; fairly crude; not too well made. The mark is too indistinct to make even a guess at.
