Mappin and Webb teaspoon pattern.

Post by Vale »

Hi,

I am tracking down this sterling flatware pattern (teaspoon 9.5 cm length):

Image

I found it belongs to Mappin and Webb / England Sheffield (see the mark below). I also read somewhere, that the "M" symbol refers to the manufacturing date but there is not an official list for these codes, so ... even when I found some M&W dating codes, my "M" remains unknown for me.

Comments?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

The date letter is for 1929.

Can you post a larger image of the small mark on the extreme left?

My pleasure, although this is the best I could get. (I read MA and a sort of arrow). Means something special? :)

Thanks again.

Sorry for the delay in replying, I was sure I had seen that other mark before and eventually found it.
