19 January 1739 John Lewis Marc of Tower Street Soho in the parish of Saint Gyles will was proven.
Found in transcript of record from the Prerogative Court of Canterbury Wills, 1384-1858, Public Information Office ( PROB 11: Will Registers â–· 1737-1743 â–· Piece 700: Browne, Quire Numbers 1-57 (1740)).

For those not familiar with the convoluted system used by the old Public Record Office, (now the National Archives) the reference is now PROB 11 / 700/ 151( or to give it the full reference -NRA/ PROB 11 / 700/ 151 )
and it is catalogued as -
Will of John Lewis MARE of Saint Giles in the Fields , Middlesex (NS) of 19 January 1740. Note that the National Archives have adjusted the date to New Style. see

Being filed under MARE and 1740 had me baffled at first .
Whether Grimwade is correct with MARC or the National Archives with MARE is unknown.
