He signed a bond in 1711 as a goldsmith of St Ann’s parish, Westminster to marry Sarah Feram of St Martin in the Fields parish thus confirming Grimwade’s suggestion that she had entered the marks at Goldsmiths Hall on 22nd July 1719 as Edward’s widow.
He paid Duty in 1717 for the apprentice indentures of James the son of James Overing of the Turners Company, London. In the same year Matthew the son of John Perchard, a mariner from Guernsey, signed indentures to be his apprentice.
The Will of Edward Holaday (Grimwade p.549, 753) was proved for probate on 26th June 1719 (National Archives reference PROB 11/569/188).

David Meades Bishop presented himself for examination on 6th August 1760 for a grant of freedom. He said he was the son of the late Thomas Bishop, carpenter of Thorpe, Surrey who had been bound apprentice for 7 years to Sarah, the widow of Edward Holladay (sic) deceased Citizen and Goldsmith, and was turned over on 2nd April 1739 to William Justice (William Justis Grimwade p.566, 755) of the same Company.
No death record has been found for Sarah. The turn over of her apprentice in 1739 therefore suggests she had ceased in business around that time.
