The son of Edward Gibbons, malster of Hertford, he was apprenticed in 1726 to Edward Chandler (Grimwade p.293) of the Clockmakers’ Company and free in 1735.
He entered a mark at Goldsmiths’ Hall in 1736 as a case maker from New Street Square, Shoe Lane.
Page 122 of Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World lists him as a freeman from 1735-41.
No further information has been found for him.
