ADAM, Charles (Grimwade p.419, 734)

He was assessed to Land Tax from 1705-1723 on unidentified property in St Leonard precinct which was probably in Foster Lane. He had entered his only mark at Goldsmiths’ Hall from there in 1703. A Thomas Bondford (sic) was assessed on the property in 1724. This probably relates to Thomas Bamford who had been his apprentice in 1703 and also probably signals, as recorded in the marks register, the date Adam left off being active.
He returned to Yorkshire where he was born and where he died in 1738.
