The son of Henry Wotton, gentleman of St Leonard parish, Shoreditch, he signed indentures in 1751 to be the apprentice of Christopher Nicholls, Citizen and Joyner. He was made free in 1758.
He married Elizabeth Burt in 1759 at St Leonard, Shoreditch; both were from that parish.
He entered a mark in 1760 at Goldsmiths’ Hall as a smallworker from Hoxton Market.
As a widower he married the widow Ann Hitchcock at St John Zachary in 1771; both were from that parish.
No later information has been found for him.
