He was christened Christopher Fly Woods in 1746 at St Leonard, Heston, the son of John and Ann.
As a bachelor from Battersea he made a bond in 1773 to marry the widow Margueritte Cloughton (nee Callard) at St Anne, Soho. She was the daughter of his master John Callard (Grimwade p.457, 740).
Six of their children were christened:
A daughter and two sons at St Ann, Soho between 1774 and 1777;
A daughter at the British Lying-in Hospital, Brownlow Street, Long Acre in 1784;
A son at the Lying-in Hospital, Endell Street, Holborn in 1787;
A son at St Luke, Finsbury in 1791.
His burial was registered at Bunhill Fields in 1807.
