Wynyard Wilkinson in his 'The Makers of Indian Colonial Silver' has note of a William Lukin who was recorded as working in Madras in c.1780. It would appear that he returned to London, was a member of the Glovers' Company, and was recorded in the 'List of the Livery of London' in 1792 as a working jeweller of Denmark Street, Soho.
