In addition to the involvement of John Hyatt in his apprenticeship which Grimwade mentions the 1767 proceedings for his freedom in the Goldsmiths Company required a certificate signed by both Hyatt and John Verlander (Grimwade p.688-9) stating they were satisfied Lancester had met the terms of his original indentures.
He was assessed to Land Tax for one year only in 1773 on property in Noble Street.
