Epaphroditus was a New Testament figure appearing as an envoy of the Philippian church to assist St Paul the Apostle.
There are christening records 1704-1707 at St Dunstan and All Saints, Stepney for children of Epaphroditus Fowler, a goldsmith of Mile End Old Town and his wife Ann.
He was assessed to Land Tax on property on the Water Side, Wapping Wall until 1742. The assessment in 1743 was made on Ann Fowler, presumably his wife, indicating her husband had died.
