FARGUS, John (Grimwade p.506)

He is generally recorded as John Peter Fargues.
He was born in London around 1780.
He married Mary Louisa Trebout in Lambeth on 1805.
Their daughter Ann Lavinia was christened at St Mary, Lambeth in 1810.
Daughter Elizabeth was christened at the same church in 1817 when her father was a jeweller at Carlisle Place.
Daughter Emma Julia was christened at the same church in 1820 when her father was a jeweller at New Street, Union Street.
He was listed in Electoral Registers from 1839-50 at 8 Sherrard Street.
The 1841 UK Census shows him as a jeweller aged 60 years living with his family at Barnsby Street.
He was listed still trading as Dee & Fargues in a commercial directory of 1845.
His burial in 1851 aged 71 years, late of Albion Grove, Thornhill Road, Barnsbury was recorded at the New Bunhill Fields Burial Ground.

The Will of John Peter Fargues, goldsmith and jeweller late of Islington, was proved for probate on 6th March 1851 (National Archives reference PROB 11/2128/409).
