He married Elizabeth Penson at St Giles, Cripplegate in 1702.
Their son John was christened at St Mary Staining in 1704 and their daughter Ann at St Anne and St Agnes in 1721.

Andrew Archbold is entered in Land Tax assessment books from 1710-42 in respect of unidentified property in St Mary Staining and later St Anne and St Agnes parishes.
His son Francis, for whom no birth records have been found, was made free by patrimony in the Goldsmiths Company in 1751.

Francis Archbold is recorded in Land Tax assessment books for Honeysuckle Court, Cripplegate from 1753-56 and at Hanover Court from 1757-75.
He may have had a mark in the lost Smallworkers Register but is not mentioned in the 1773 broken plate table and may not by then have been active as an silvermith.
The burial of a Francis Archbold recorded at St Anne and St Agnes in 1776 without detail of his age or last address may be relevant.

The information provided in the previous post differs from that on page 425 of Grimwade’s book.
Having served his apprenticeship with his father from November 1693 Andrew would be expected to have completed his seven years by November 1700 but Grimwade notes freedom was granted in March 1700.
Freedom obtained in the six months to April 1701 is more in keeping with the usual apprenticeship terms.
