JACKSON James I (Grimwade p.310, 343)

In an undated document indexed to 1825-6 James Jackson II (Grimwade p.558), born in 1780 the son of James Jackson, applied for freedom by patrimony in the Goldsmiths Company. The document records his father obtained his own freedom in 1771.
Samuel, the son of James Jackson I, watch case maker of Bridgewater Street, signed indentures in 1788 to be the apprentice of Joshua Jackson of the Goldsmiths Company and of New Street, Cloth Fair.
James Jackson I entered marks at Goldsmiths Hall in 1785 and 1790 as a watch case maker from 2 Bridgwater Street, Barbican.
