The christening in 1815 of James John Shaw recorded at St James, Clerkenwell shows his parents as John and Elizabeth and his father as a jeweller from Spa Fields.
The christening record of their daughter Elizabeth Caroline at the same church in 1818 shows her father in the same trade from Charlotte Street.
The christening in 1821 of their son William Henry recorded at St Giles, Cripplegate shows his father in the same trade at Finsbury Street from where he entered a mark at Goldsmiths Hall in the same year as a gold worker.
Christenings at the same church of daughter Rosina Camelia in 1832 shows their address as Market Street and of son William Robert in 1836 their address as Clerkenwell Close, their father continuing as a jeweller. The change to the latter address was reported to Goldsmiths Hall in 1839.
