He was probably christened in 1734 at St Luke, Finsbury, the son of Edward and Susannah.
He was turned over in 1749 to Joshua Barrass (Grimwade p.299) of the Goldsmiths Company to complete his apprenticeship.
Indentures to be his apprentice were signed in 1755 by William Gardner, in 1757 by John Hill, in 1759 by Thomas Tasker and in 1767 by Thomas Hill (Grimwade p.349).
He entered a maker’s mark at Goldsmiths Hall in 1776 as a watch case maker from Wells Row, Islington and paid Land Tax on that address in 1780.
No further information has been found.
