He was christened at St Martin in the Fields in 1786, the son of Daniel and Elizabeth.
He married Hannah Barlow at St Marylebone in 1807; he was from St James, Clerkenwell parish.
Their first son James was christened at St James, Clerkenwell but died in the same year; his burial recorded at St John the Baptist, Clerkenwell showed his address had been Wilderness Row.
Their second son James was christened at St James in 1812. His burial in 1827 recorded at the same church also showed his address had been Wilderness Row.
A daughter Elizabeth was christened at St John, Clerkenwell in 1814. Her parents’ address was as before and her father an engraver.
Hannah’s burial from the same address in 1815 aged 30 years was recorded at St John.
He entered maker’s marks at Goldsmiths Hall in 1821 and 1836 as a pendant maker from 18 Wilderness Row.
The 1841 and 1851 UK Census recorded him of independent means living at Queens Row, Clerkenwell.
He appeared in the 1861 records at 135 Pentonville Road. His source of income was landed property.
His burial in 1864 aged 78 years was recorded at St James, St Pancras; his last address was as in 1861.
His Will was proved for Probate in 1864 at the Principal Registry; the value of his estate was under £10000.
