A document dated in 1786 relating to the application for Freedom of the City of London by Honorius Crespel notes that he was the apprentice of John Wakelin for 7 years from 1779. Grimwade p.478 refers to Honore, son of James Crespel silversmith of Panton Street, Haymarket.
A document of 1805 relating to the application by William Wakelin for the Freedom of the City of London by patrimony shows he was born in 1784 the son of John Wakelin goldsmith.
There was a burial which may be relevant of a John Wakelin aged 66 years, late of the Infirmary, recorded in 1819 at St James, Piccadilly.
