Little could be traced of his life.
His only maker’s mark was entered at Goldsmiths Hall in 1831 as a smallworker from 9 Westminster Bridge Road.
The 1851 UK Census has a record of him at Westminster Road, Lambeth as a musical instrument maker employing 4 men. He was unmarried.
His burial in 1870 aged 77 years is recorded at Norwood Cemetery, Lambeth. His last address was Loughborough Road, Brixton.
