Silver Box Identification

I inherited a silver box from my great aunt. Thanks to this site I may have identified it as a 1911 .833 Dutch Silver box by by C. Schoorl, Zaandijk, 1875-1914.

I am including pictures showing the box and its marks.
I also have links where I pieced this together.
Do you think I am right? What was this box used for? I hope that someone may help solve this mystery.

Here are my pictures:

Hi,

Hello Kromtara,

Welcome to the forum and you are correct.

Dutch lion passant above 2 for silver 83.3% fineness mark used 1814-1953
Date letter B for 1911
Maker’s mark G7S for; Geradus Schoorl with outlets in Zaandijk, Amsterdam & Haarlem, mark used 1875/1914.
What was this box used for? Scene of the Night Watch by Rembrandt van Rijn. Looking at the size of the box I believe it could have been a cigarette box with or without an inside wooden liner.

The box looks very dirty and shows residue of old polish cream. My advices please see;

the front side is probably a scene from the painter Jan Steen.
