Inland Revenue Board of Stamps transcript 4/14 of 1715 records the apprenticeship of a William Judd ,son of Samuel Judd, late of Chatham ,Goldsmith to Maurice Boheme Citizen and Goldsmith for a premium of £20. Boheme was well recorded as a specialist silver bucklemaker. This Judd may be the William Judd who married Elizabeth Marriott ( http://www.925-1000.com/forum/viewtopic ... 74&t=36929 ) in 1741 at St Leonard, Shoreditch or he may be the father of this William Judd .

Duty was paid by Miles and Joseph Askew, bucklecutters of Aldersgate, for the Apprentice Indentures of William Judd

The partnership did not last long as -
4 May 1789
Sole mark of Judd as bucklemaker "near the Turnpike, Islington Road" (the 1813 Horwood map marks the Turnpike very near No 19.)
