1779 - Thomas Wilson , Silversmith, Butcher Row , Deptford insured for £1600.
(1779 SUN 1 270 22\08\79 BN Policy Number 407412)
I have never positively identified his mark on a buckle , although I think some attributed as "probably Thomas Wallis " may well be his. An insured value of £1600, large for the time, indicates that his was not a small business.
