The John Stone who entered a mark in London in 1761 at Thame in Oxfordshire and was in PR1773 as a bucklemaker is probably the same John Stone of Aylesbury who entered a bucklemaker mark in 1776. Thame less than ten miles from Aylesbury.

John Stone of Aylesbury, Bucks will proved at London. Ref: TNA/ PROB 11/1788/207 (The combination of working tools to be given to grandson Henry Clark when he is in business for himself and a sizeable estate makes this identification somewhat reasonable.)
