Grimwade records the mark as bucklemakers 19 January 1776 of Charles Gilcrest & James Gilcrest at 3, St John's Square.

Insured Charles & James Gilchrist , Merchants 33 St Johns Square
Note
The 1780 insurance address of 33, St John's Square is probably a clerical error, although as the trade description appears to have changed, they may have moved premises. Certainly upped their sum insured!
Toyman, or Toymen were makers and sellers of small items, including buckles, not playthings for children. Nearest modern equivalent probably "trinkets" .
