BUNN, Lockington (Grimwade p.454)

He was born in Quebec, Canada in 1814, the son of Benjamin Bunn a captain in the East India Company, and his wife Elizabeth.
He was christened Lockington St Lawrence Bunn in 1816 at St Andrew, Holborn when his parents lived in Hackney Grove.
He entered a mark at Goldsmiths Hall in 1835 in partnership with William Theobalds (Grimwade p.680) as plate and spoon workers from 7 Salisbury Court, Fleet Street.
The partnership and his involvement in the silver trade were short lived as Theobalds entered a mark alone in 1836 and at his marriage to Elizabeth Hays at St Andrew’s in 1842 Bunn was recorded as gentleman from 60 King William Street.
Subsequent records show he became first a leather merchant then an India rubber merchant.
He was free by redemption in the Spectaclemakers Company in 1859.
He died in 1866.

Late of Winchester House, Old Broad Street and 4 Fellows Road, Hampstead he died at 13 Fenchurch Street. His Will was proved for probate at the Principal Registry on 7th April 1866. The value of his estate was under £5000.
