I have a 12 inch square platter that I am trying to identify. On the back of the platter there are 2 sets of marks. The marks in the middle of the pattern show that the platter is Egyptian.

The marks are (I believe)
1. Cairo 900
2. Egypt after 1946
3. 1965-1967
On the edge of the platter are 2 more marks
1. HF in a Diamond - I've looked through the pages and can't find this mark.
2. 900
My question is 2 parts.
1. Am I right about the Egyptian marks?
2. What does the HF mark mean?

Re: Egyptian Silver Platter
Hi llane, I believe you are correct about the Egyptian marks; the other marks likely denote the purity for the importing country and the assay office; sorry I can't tell you what country although someone on this forum may be able to. Look through the sections on countries that have separate marks for assay offices. Good luck!
