Hello,
somebody can help me? I suppose, this napkin ring is made from 14 loth silver in Schwäbisch Gmünd (unicorn's head mark). What's your opinion, can be?
Interesting is, both marks are wery small (less than 2 mm).Actually 14 loth silver purity was approved by our assay office. Unfortunately, there is not maker mark and city mark is slightly damaged. City mark somewhat evoke also Rostock mark (gotic "r"), but i thing Gmünd is very much possible.
Every comments are welcome.
Many thanks
M.

Re: Napkin ring, Schwäbisch Gmünd?
you are right
it is the first time, that I see this mark with a 14
nomaly it is a 13
it is also normal, that there is no makersmark on pieces from Schwäbisch Gmünd
there are some other hallmarks from Schwäbisch Gmünd in 19. Century
