redlich silver mounted boar tooth ?

Post by bubba »

Clearly marked with Redlich logo, sterling & boar tooth, 11" length, 1 1/2" dia at the swivel saddle/clip

I would like suggestions as to the purpose of this object.

hook at end is somewhat crudely soldered and might not be original as the rest is finely constructed as normal for Redlich items.

I think this might be a handle for a wine bottle, the top clips round the neck of the bottle and the bottom part fits under the bottle

this is the perfect size to be a handle but after trying it, the lower piece is not rigid enough to support a bottle filled with liquid.
thanks for the assist.

the problem with using this as a handle is the clip/saddle is swivel mounted so the tooth/handle does not stay parallel with the clip which will allow the handle to rotate freely
thank you for your input
