Maker's Mark "Lavalle"

Post by TH »

Hi,
I'm searching for informations on a silversmith called "Lavalle" who made my spoons and forks.
The makers mark is pictured here but it's not listed on your maker's mark list. Does this maker really exsite?
Thanks for your cooperation.

Hello and welcome.

I think that mark was used by Charles-Alexander Lavallee of Paris.
Registered his mark in 1855.
However, your crown looks different than the one I show. Maybe a later mark ?

Hi TH,
No, there is no sword and the crown is the same, I believe your mark is either scratched or there may be some foreign matter sticking to it. I've cleaned up your mark image and have added it to the French Makers section. Thanks for submitting it.
Regards, Tom
