Benjamin Brewood (Breawood) II (Grimwade 128 - 30)

Benjamin Brewood died in December 1781, until the time of his death he had worked in the Bateman workshops for three years. Benjamin's son, Charles, was apprenticed to his father in May 1778 and was a frequent visitor to the Bateman workshops, before and after his father's death. It was during one of these visits, in December 1782, that Charles was accused of stealing a small quantity of silver. He was tried at the Old Bailey, found guilty, and transported for seven years.
