BULLOCK
Swansea
A Swansea jeweler named Bullock has just received by mail a six cent stamp with six cents interest postmarked Nottingham. The covering letter states that when at Swansea five years ago the writer submitted to temptation and took a silver three-penny piece from the jeweler’s shop. The stamps enclosed covered the value of the silver piece, with five years’ interest.

JOHN HALL
.....Morgan Arcade, various addresses, 24, 31, 32, 35, later 22-24, Cardiff
.......Tool Dealer, Cutler,
Kelly's Directory of Monmouthshire & S Wales, 1895. Part 2 South Wales Court & Trade Directories
.....Tool Dealers
Hall John, 28 Castle Arcade, Cardiff
6 years later John Hall had moved and was also listed in the "Cutlers" section of the Cardiff directory. Probably he was "made elsewhere" cutlery retailing.
Cardiff Directory, 1901
Hall John, tool dealer, 24 Morgan Arcade
......Cutlers.
Hall John, 24 Morgan arcade

South Wales & Monmouthshire Directory, 1907
......Cutlers
Hall J, 35 Morgan Arcade
......Toolmakers
Hall J, 24 Morgan Arcade
Cardiff Directory, 1911
Hall John, tool dealer, 24 & 31 Morgan Arcade
......Cutlers.
Hall John 24 & 32 Morgan Arcade
Trades' Directory of Wales (North and South), 1918.
......Cutlers
Hall. John. 24 Morgan Arcade
John Hall's name was subsequently carried forward by a very large multicentred Toolmaker/Dealer concern John Hall Tools Ltd. who also may have dealt in cutlery, but still with a Morgan Arcade address.

Not maybe not the cutting edge of the trade but suppling silver plated cutlery to many.
