Help with Christofle cruet stand

Post by cgonzalez100 »

I would greatly appreciate help with this Christofle silver condiment stand. It bears hallmarks of the mercury head which I believe was meant for export and Christofle marks. But I have not been able to find the pattern or an example of the crystal that it would have held. I do not know what the bottles look like or if it held salt cellars or other jars. I do not have access to the old Christofle catalogues. If anyone can find this example in a catalogue, I would be so thankful for a picture of it. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you

I messaged Christofle and was told the following:
"We are pleased to inform you that this piece was called a "ménagère", destined to hold condiments on the table. This ménagère setting has a bamboo décor and used to contain 6 small bottles made of engraved and chiseled crystal with a flowering shrub décor. It is made of sterling silver and was produced around 1868."
