I was told that the lion mark on this meant it is real silver rather than plated...can you help me confim this?

I believe Sheridan Taunton Silversmiths only produced silverplated holloware.
A subsiderary of Lenox Inc., this trademark was introduced around 1974.
British hallmarks use the lion passant as a symbol of sterling.
