Hello. Looks like that might be a French silverplate mark.
Solid silver pieces were had a maker's mark in a lozenge.

Don't know the manufacturer, but I enhanced your mark some so others can help.

it is stamped twice on the handel one is the minarva the other is that VL mark thanks for any info

The marks would seem to conflict. How about posting images of all of them?

Hello there,

Watching at all the pictures, it appears to me that the handles ar silver but the blade and the spoon part are in another metal. I do agree that the square mark is for silver plate. Normally you should find the losange mark on the handles. Please post pictures.
