Good day all, I'm new to the forum and excited to be here. Thank you guy's for an excellent platform for questions and help.
I need help to identify a maker please. I'm no expert at all but so far I think I have identified the Hallmarks correctly, just not able to find the maker.
So far what I have is England, Sheffield, 1779 and the maker is MF over RS (MFRS).
Can someone please help identify the maker?
Thank you all in advance.

Re: Identify makers mark
Hi Dion,
Great job with the images, and what a fantastic set of candlesticks.
It's actually MF over RC, and identifies the firm of Fenton, Creswick & Co. (Matthew Fenton, Richard Creswick & William Watson) of Mulberry Street, Sheffield. They registered their mark with the Sheffield Assay Office on the 13th September 1773, they were the second entrant with the new assay office.

Thank you so much Trev, I really appreciate the quick response.
There is an engraving on it which I would appreciate you having a look at please. I'm trying to research it's history.

Re: Identify makers mark
It's probably best to start a new topic, with that image, in the 'Family Crests' section of the forum (located near the bottom of the menu).
Hopefully we will find an answer for you.
