I have a set of six spoons none of which has a city mark but they are from two different makers TW & JH below is a pic of the JH hallmark. Any idea what the year/city would be please.
I had already looked through the makers list you link to and the Johnathan Hayne mark is totally different from the one on my spoons as shown in the picture. Having been though all the city lists there are not even close matches that I can see. but Hayne is definitely not one of them.
That's a TW with a JH below it. Mines just JH on it's own.How can they be the same maker? If I just had the one spoon would you still give the same answer. I'm not trying to be awkward but I always believed a makers mark was pretty unique.
I thought my description along with the picture was clear when I said "two different makers TW & JH below is a pic" that didn't mean JH is below TW it meant "below is a pic" Does the picture not clearly show a makers mark of JH on it's own. Am I just being stupid here or is there something I'm missing.
Ahh, Clearly I am being stupid, what you cleaver people spotted but i didn't was the feint TW. which does show above the JH I had spent all my time looking a mark though my glass and the one I look at the TW is simply so worn it can't be seen or maybe just no a ver good impression. Sorry for the confusion
