Help with pesky hallmark

Post by Garzon59 »

Hello, can anyone help me with these pesky Edinburgh hallmarks?

The maker mark is very odd, plus it looks like two monarch heads, and no date letter.

All very odd to me but maybe someone can help? I took photos both up and down. Thanks!

I'm attaching smaller hallmark pictures right here as the moderator thought my original ones were too large and just added links - perhaps forum members would find it easier to just see the smaller photos here. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

These marks appear to be pseudos. That is not to say the item is not silver, only that it has not been officially assayed.

It may well be of colonial origin.

Cheers Trev, these are difficult marks and they are doing my head in... :-) maybe someone will come along who recognizes them! Thanks again
