I just bought an antique three-legged salver. It has a hallmark that to me looks like a walking saint, but that may be only my imagination. Any help out there?
A shot in the dark:
Doesn't it look more like an angel? That is usually a symbol for pewter especially if it is the only mark, but ...?
Anyway, just guessing...
I have picture reference of 26 different marks from Glarus. Non of them looks similar to yours and all of them are joined by a makers mark, usually his Initials.
I have problems with the structure on the bottom right side of the mark. Looks like a tree or maybe some makers Initials. I do not see this on Glarus marks.
By the way, you did not mention it, but I assume this is the only mark on the object?
What is this structure on the underside rim, on your Picture at 11hour Position?
