windmill mark

Post by lloyd gray »

Hello
I am new to this site and I have a gravy boat with underplate that has a mark of a windmill with an "M" at the bottom of the windmill. I hope that some one can tell me who the maker is and maybe when it was made.
To the left of the wind mill it has EPNS and to the right of the windmill is 0861.
I would appreciate any help on identifying this. Thank You,
Lloyd Gray

That sounds like a mark used by the Mulholland Brothers, Aurora, Illinois (1912-1934). Walter and David Mulholland originally produced some excellent silver items. After they bought out the Aurora Silver Plate Company, about 1920, they focused on silverplated products.
